Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Car Crash
The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California aged 55.
The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.
The renowned industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with his family and friends, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his work," an official with Electronic Arts said.
