The President Invites Relatives of Injured Guard Personnel to White House
Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.
He noted that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

The president said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the state Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told the press. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Mourners gathered over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.
Both they had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist public safety in Washington DC.

“She was the individual that instructors wished for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.
He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader the governor said on a news program.
The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to speak to the family.
Memory of Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
