Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
