Adam Wharton His first start for his country. A bit sloppy when playing out though his dangerous corners posed a danger. A handy tempo-setter for the coach to call upon against sides that sit back. Shown a yellow for a rash tackle. 6

The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and free-kicks created chances. Was given license to roam down the left flank yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Awarded a deserved break around the 60-minute point. 6/10

The star midfielder Operated in a high role out wide and put in the hard yards. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance and scuffed an effort over. Withdrawn late on for Rogers, his rival, after being booked. 7

Jarrod Bowen Had the team's best chance before halftime, his effort smartly stopped by Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate holding position, he was forced to provide width out wide but his crosses from wide areas were inconsistent. Replaced late in the match. 6

Harry Kane The decisive figure scoring 77th and 78th finishes for his country. His first a typical opportunist's goal and his next an excellent header following a clever run off his defender. At 32, his form is unwavering and the side have every chance in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. Eight

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play on the left flank. Was presented with a presentable chance after being played in by Bellingham but Strakosha made the save. His replacement produced a bigger effect after coming on. 5/10
