"Observe this extensive effort. Look at this act of genocide," a fighter cheers.

The individual beams as he turns the recording device on his person and his fellow fighters, their Rapid Support Forces badges visible: "The victims shall all be killed this way."

These individuals are celebrating a massacre that humanitarian officials suspect resulted in the deaths of in excess of two thousand individuals in the Sudanese metropolis of al-Fashir last month.

A Community Severed from the World

Following their control of the city under blockade for nearly two years, from the summer the RSF advanced to reinforce its position and blockade the remaining residents.

At dawn on 26 October the paramilitary force overwhelmed the final army strongholds and took control of the primary headquarters in the urban area, the main facility of the Military Unit, as the military pulled back.

Among the most horrific recordings to surface and examined showed the results of a atrocity at a university building on the west of the urban area, where dozens lifeless forms were seen strewn over the floor.

An older man dressed in a white tunic remained isolated amid the victims. The man rotated to gaze as a combatant armed with a rifle walked down the steps facing him. pointing his weapon, the gunman released a single round at the man, who fell to the surface motionless.

"For what reason is this individual even alive," a militiaman exclaimed. "Shoot him."

Orbital photography taken on late October seemed to substantiate that killings were also performed on the streets of el-Fasher, as reported by a report issued by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.

A key eyewitness who provided testimony stated they had witnessed "many of our family members getting killed - they were collected in a specific area and all killed."

Paramilitary Officers Try to Conduct Public Relations
