Mohamed Salah Extends Regret to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and stating his relationship with manager had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the initial controversy. He feels the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and on a positive run.”
