Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series title. Fans across the globe joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations included a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Angelenos flooding downtown streets, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.
The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the team emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the field.

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict Walter taking the stage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.
The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
