Jurgen Klopp states rejoining to manage Liverpool is plausible in theory.
The German coach, who left Anfield in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club is something that could happen. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure which brought a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title since 1990, has since taken on roles as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and as an advisor with the German Football League.
Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks
The club claimed the Premier League last season, though countless followers who adore the manager would be thrilled by the idea of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he told his interviewer: “I said I refuse to lead a different club in England. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”
“I’m 58, so I might decide down the line, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
When asked about which situations must arise to draw him back to the touchline, he confessed he isn't eager to such a return. “I don’t even know exactly, I enjoy my current role,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or constant media duties weekly.
“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, yet sharing a meal alongside the squad having a nice chat, that’s nice. With many victories thus frequently positive atmosphere at the club. Remaining with me is Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear as an instance.”
Commending Arne Slot
He spoke highly for his successor, praising him for the tweaks which secured the championship in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four in a row in all competitions following significant transfers, though he denied the idea of it representing a slump.
“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, you will all eat your words with negative comments. An outstanding player. The French striker, excellent performer. It’s a really good well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, they'll bounce back.”
Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota
The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, and its impact on Liverpool. Jota was killed in a road accident together with his sibling recently.
“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the team environment absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. A devastating blow for his teammates also. No one within the club might employ it for poor performances though it's a fact. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Coping with it individually is difficult. Unbearable.”
